I think that research and teaching can be highly synergistic. As a teacher, you can share not only your discoveries in your field of research, but also your queries and explorations. This provides the students a greater appreciation of the dynamic processes of questioning, observations, critical thinking, creativity and innovations involved in the sciences. This approach also allows us to segue into more active engagement in the learning process through interactive and immersive exercises.
BiOME is involved in activities that give better appreciation and understanding of the oceans (and sciences) at various levels: from high school kids to graduate students.
